Is Christ Loosing to Santa?
54
If u read this read it in its entirety. I have recently come under scrutiny nonetheless for some of my devout beliefs as they relate to Christmas. I want to share this for informative purposes. So often man takes things and alters them to a point where as my 11 year old just said they've..."gone too far" , but I as a parent and leader have a spiritual and moral responsibility to them and my own family...simple as that. Society tends to try & explain away anything that keeps us from doing what we want to do. I was told that my kids thought something was wrong because of the way I taught them..if this person had taken the time to listen to me rather than hear me then they would had understood that I empower them with knowledge so that they have the strength, understanding, and boldness to stand for what they believe is right allowing any one to bully them into saying or doing something they desire not to relating to their relationship with God.
If a message has to be justified before being delivered does it not lose some efffectivenes? Is it then truly a message or stumbling block? Does the Bible not speak on stumbling blocks as they relate to our brother? Then when does this become okay to carry on just because we want to do something? When we hide behind the coat of a leadership? Just because the 99 are doing something, does that make it right? When did our place of worship stop being a safe place and become your worst critic due to your desire to keep certain things sacred? I will not lie to my children about Christmas and its true history. both secularly and religiously. Be clear on this... I CELEBRATE BECAUSE OF CHRIST...NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS...Santa Clause was based off a man...not God made flesh...Santa Clause was a funny character from a fictional story based from a Saint/Bishop . I honor him for his contributions to society, however, he has Dec 6. There are many ways to feed the imagination, does this have to be one. We can make excuses all day long, the truth of the matter is as with anything, we make excuses to do what we want to do, and when we learn better we should do better. Furthermore, just because something's fun, doesn't mean its right...isn't most sin pleasurable to the flesh...CHEW ON THAT! MY ISSUE IS NOT ABOUT THE BIG FAT MAN COMING DOWN THE CHIMNEY, ITS ABOUT HOW IMPORTANT MAN HAS MADE HIM AT THIS TIME OF YEAR...SOMEBODY ELSE'S OBSERVED BIRTHDAY. IT HAS GONE BEYOND AS MY MOM USED TO SAY..."CHRISTMAS HAS BECOME SO COMMERCIALIZED."
I was told that I challenge you to be this way in all aspects of your Christianity. Seriously, if this was something new, I would not be so comfortable with my fellow "Christian's" rejection of this seemingly new idea. I say teach, reinforce, and don't beafraid to stand boldly for CHRIST....FEAR IS NOT OF GOD...JUST A THOUGHT!
****READ BELOW...IF THIS IS WHAT WE WERE PRACTICING (As Christians) IT WOULD NOT BE SUCH A CONCERN...AS MY 11 YEAR OLD JUST SAID" PEOPLE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT OUR GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD**** HAVE WE CROSSED THE LINE TO IDOLOTRY AS WITH MANY THINGS...MEASURE YOURSELF...I AM...
It's been a long journey from the Fourth Century Bishop of Myra, St. Nicholas, who showed his devotion to God in extraordinary kindness and generosity to those in need, to America's jolly Santa Claus, whose largesse often supplies luxuries to the affluent. However, if you peel back the accretions, he is still Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, whose caring surprises continue to model true giving and faithfulness. There is growing interest in reclaiming the original saint in the United States to help restore a spiritual dimension to this festive time. For indeed, St. Nicholas, lover of the poor and patron saint of children, is a model of how Christians are meant to live. A bishop, Nicholas put Jesus Christ at the center of his life, his ministry, his entire existence. Families, churches, and schools are embracing true St Nicholas traditions as one way to claim the true center of Christmas—the birth of Jesus. Such a focus helps restore balance to increasingly materialistic and stress-filled Advent and Christmas seasons.
Even to this end, my desire is to better and better, yeah I believe this, yeah I homeschool, no I'm not crazy....I'm just real...I trust my salvation to no man...just Christ...judge me if you will, but measure not too hard for you must be measured by the same.

"I celebrate because of Christ nothing more nothing less." With all the traditions going on during the Christmas season, people can get lost as to the real reason for celebrating. We Christians should keep our focus on Jesus - Christmas or not. God bless you Ms Re.
